Looking South over London End
This aerial photograph, sponsored by Cambridge University in April 1964, offers a fascinating snapshot of the village as it was. Clearly visible are the SAM field with its distinct patterns, Home Farm, what we now know as Old Hill Farm, and the barns that form part of Hillside Barn. While change has occurred since then, it’s been thoughtful and evolutionary — respecting the landscape’s heritage while gently moving forward.
Looking past London End to the Welsh Road
Another Cambridge sponsored photograph, this time from February 1979. A light dusting of snow picks out the outlines of where ancient buildings stood in the Scheduled Ancient Monument (SAM) field, just South of London End.
